Vice President Sebastien Pillay, together with the Secretary of State for Lands and Housing Mr Joseph Francois, recently led a delegation on a site visit to the former Ste Anne Jetty as part of ongoing efforts to restore and redevelop the area.
The visit focused on discussions surrounding the newly announced concept for the site, which is expected to serve as a space dedicated to youth entertainment, recreation and community engagement. Plans currently being explored include the development of facilities and amenities that will create a safe, vibrant and welcoming environment for young people and families.
During the visit, emphasis was also placed on the importance of revitalising under utilised public spaces and transforming them into areas that encourage positive social interaction, leisure activities and community participation.
The delegation also visited the Beach Soccer arena.
The initiative reflects Government’s commitment to investing in recreational infrastructure and creating more opportunities for youth development and social engagement across the country.
